We're pleased to offer the following services in our Boyd Lake Veterinary Clinic:
Types of Pets Seen
All of the veterinarians who practice at Boyd Lake Veterinary Center, specialize in dogs and cats.
Our dog boarding facility is 8000 square feet and consists of 70 runs and an indoor exercise area. All runs are 14' long and range from 3' to 6' in width. The space is heated with in-floor radiant heating in the winter and cooled with evaporative cooling in the summer and has numerous sky lights and windows for plentiful natural light. Our exercise yard is 6000 square feet, covered by professional grade artificial turf, and separated into three areas to accomodate dogs of different sizes and activity level. A dog pool is available for therapy or for entertainment for our water loving guests.
Our cat and small mammal boarding facility consists of 12 multi-level condos that are 2' square and 4' tall. The front of the condos are glass and wire and face a window that looks out the front of our building. A removeable door is available between many condos so multi cat families can have room to stay together. There is also a fish tank or as we like to call it, "cat TV".
We do accept birds, fish and other small pets for boarding if you are able to provide their own cage or tank and food.
We can also accomodate special needs animals. We often board diabetics, pets with bandages, post operative pets and pets on medication. Fees for treatment vary widely depending on how involved the treatment is.
We offer dog daycare for owners who can't leave their pet(s) home for a variety of reasons. You can drop your dog(s) off as early as 6:30am and pick them up as late as 6:00pm on weekdays. On Saturdays, you can drop them off as early as 8:00am and pick up by 6:00pm.
Please visit our boarding page or call 970-593-1717 for more specific information on boarding and daycare.
Our groomer, Diane McCord, has made grooming her life's work. She has been grooming pets since the eighth grade! She owned her own grooming business in Phoenix for 9 1/2 years before moving to Colorado. She started grooming at Boyd Lake Veterinary Center in the summer of 2007. She will accept cats and all types of dog breeds. Boarding pets receive a 10% discount if groomed during their boarding stay.
Please call in to 970-593-1717 to make or scheduled appointments. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open.
We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty Monday through Saturday who are trained and equipped to handle many emergency needs your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's life. An emergency is anything you consider an emergency but often includes episodes such as poisoning, problems breathing, repeated vomiting and/or diarrhea, hit by car, and chocolate or foreign body ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call immediately. It is always best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency and prepare any equipment or medication needed for your pet's specific condition.
We are also available for urgent care when your pet's condition is serious but not immediately life-threatening and you feel he or she needs to be seen before we have an open appointment. Our veterinarians will work to "squeeze" you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.
Boyd Lake Veterinary Center accepts payment via cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express or Care Credit. So that we can continue to provide you high quality service utilizing the best medical technologies, we request that payment be made at the time services are rendered.
We provide estimates for all surgeries and hospitalizations. If you have not received an estimate, you are welcome to request one at any time for your expected charges.
